IJN Signs Onto Letter Urging Transparency from the US Senate in Its Forthcoming Report about CIA Detention and Interrogation  E-mail

New York, NY - On April 23, 2012, the International Justice Network (IJN) joined a coalition of leading civil rights, civil liberties, and human rights organizations in sending a letter to US Senator Dianne Feinstein, the Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI).

The April 23 letter urges Senator Feinstein to make public the forthcoming SSCI report on the detention and interrogation program of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and asks her to ensure that the report contain as few redactions as possible.

Since 2006 IJN has been advocating for the legal and human rights of prisoners held without charge or trial by the United States at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan. Some of IJN’s clients were held and tortured in secret detention by the CIA before being forcibly rendered to Bagram.

You can learn about the pending litigation brought by IJN and co-counsel on behalf of Bagram prisoners here.
