In the decade since 9/11, the "war on terror" has not only shaped the current legal landscape and regulatory environment, but has also presented novel ethical quandaries for attorneys representing clients in a variety of contexts. In this program, practitioners, scholars and other legal experts will discuss emerging ethical issues which arise in representing clients in criminal and civil matters after 9/11.

Prof. Hope Metcalf, Clinical Lecturer in Law, Yale Law School, New Haven, CT. Co-counsel in damages suit against former Office of Legal Counsel attorney John Yoo for authorizing torture of U.S. citizen, Jose Padilla.

DLA Piper US (LLP) is co-sponsoring the CLE program with International Justice Network. MCLE credit is pending upon receipt of final written material. CLE credit will be applied for in New York, as well as all other states where DLA Piper has an office (except Minnesota, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania).

All proceeds from this event will benefit the International Justice Network. We regret that registration fees are not refundable. However, any unused registration fees for attorneys cancelling prior to the event will be treated as charitable donations to IJN, and a charitable donation receipt will be issued after the event (in lieu of CLE credit).
